The RS:One Class, in partnership with the FFV and the Cercle Nautique de Loctudy, is delighted to confirm that its 2016 European Championships are to be held from 4th to 9th July in Loctudy, France.

The championship, open to all, will allow European racers to compete through innovative race formats like The Pulsar (compact slalom, America's Cup style) and Marathon (long distance). Courses will be set up in a way that the on-shore audience can enjoy the races.

RS:One is a multi generational, one-design windsurfing board featuring an easy and light performing 7.8 rig. Espoirs (youth under 22 years old), Seniors (under 40 year old) and Masters (older than 40), men and women, can race together on the same starting line in a collective fleet.

Full rigs will be available for rental and special discount will be granted to racers and clubs who wish to purchase rig packs after the event.

The European Champions will be invited full expenses to the 2016 RS:One World Championships to be held in the World Class city of Penghu (TAIWAN) from the 26th September till 1st October.


Situated on the peninsula of Penmarc'h in the far southwestern part of Lower Brittany, Loctudy, is located at the mouth of the river of Pont l'Abbé on the Bay Bénodet facing the Archipelago Glénan. Fishing port and seaside resort, it preserves elements of old Breton culture, and the Breton language is still in use. Iconic gastronomic specialty lobster locally called "the bridesmaid Loctudy" and all recipes based on fish, crustaceans (crabs, lobsters, spiders...) and fresh seafood. Le Cercle Nautique de Loctudy, with its scenic bay and famous hospitality, are promising a quality event which will delight a large number of racers and spectators.
